God has moved in wonderful ways in Dunamis. On this occasion, I want to share a special moment, where we could see His loving and healing hand.
When Regina came with her family, Jules, Sandra, Victoria, and the group of boys, it coincided that It was one of the girls’ birthday (we will only put the initial of her name for protection: “N”)and it was her Last day of coming to Dunamis as well.
God guided the whole day. We decided to couple the activity that the group had planned to celebrate N’s birthday. The planned activity was a tea party, so we took advantage so that it was more special.
From the beginning, everything was very emotional. In the morning, we prayed for her, we gave a few words of blessing for her life and even, N. was able to make an accounting with all her companions, apologize, forgive, express gratitude and love to the people with whom she had walked during this process
At midday, we proceed with the tea party. The decoration of the place was very impressive for the girls. The table was covered with a tablecloth, the tableware was elegant and porcelain. The men of the team disguised themselves as waiters and took care of them. They were shocked and very excited. The highlight was the birthday girl’s favorite food: hotdogs; to close with a flourish, we surprised her with a cake, a gift, a birthday card and we all sang Happy Birthday with joy.
God touched our hearts, in 17 years nobody had celebrated her birthday. We were able to see the love of God filling it and sowing life in his heart.
Something special happened too. The last day, before N. returned to her hometown, God allowed us to go with Sandra to look for her to give her a very important gift, a bible. That touched her a lot. We pray that the Lord will continue the process that began with her.
The other girls were also given very nice bibles, with the name of each one inscribed on them, special verses underlined and a dedication. Those Bibles have affected their lives a lot. Each morning we study them, underline and discover what God wants to tell them.
It is beautiful to be able to see the arms of God surrounding the girls, making them feel valuable and loved; even more wonderful is being able to be used by Jesus. Each day I confirm that God’s plans are much better than ours. Living those moments is indescribable.
I am very grateful to God for allowing me to be part of his dream called Dunamis.
